Rules – If you don’t have an easel handy, you can

play Pictionary with Zoom’s whiteboard feature. If you

Activity – Heads Up

Rules - For this game, each team will need one phone and

two other devices – iPad, computer or phone.
On the phone, you will need to download the app

Heads Up! The other device is for your Zoom or
FaceTime live interaction.

 

The game is played where someone holds the phone to their head, and the
Heads Up app reveals a word. The person
you are Zooming or FaceTiming

with will need to give you clues so that you can guess the word that’s on your

forehead. If you get it right, you put the phone down and back up, and a

new word will be revealed.
 

 

Activity – Virtual Museum Scavenger Hunt

Rules – Create scavenger hunt/Clues for participants to look for in the middle of the tour.

Activity - Mentos & Coke Experiment 

 

Supplies 

(1) 2 Liter Coke 

(1) Roll of Mentos 

 

Instructions:

  • You will need to be in an open outside area. 

  • Place the bottle of coke on a flat surface. 

  • Drop the mentos candies into the bottle. 

  • Stand back and watch the geyser spray.

Activity - Colorshot Tees 

 

Supplies 

Tshirts 

Fabric Markers 

Painters Tape 

Piece of cardboard

 

Instructions 

  • Place your t-shirt on the cardboard and tape it down so it does not move 

  • Tape a design on the shirt 

  • Color or create design desired 

  • Peel of tape and WEAR!!

This can also be done to shoes, pillowcases, and scarves. 

 

 

Activity - Ice Cream in a Bag

 

Ingredients  

 1/2 cup of half & half (or milk)

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 vanilla extract 

1/2 rock salt 

(2) sandwich bags 

gallon size sandwich bag

cup of ice

 

Instructions 

  1. Pour milk, sugar, vanilla in one of the sandwich bags

  2. Zip bag squeezing all the excess air out. 

  3. Place sandwich bag in the second sandwich bag. 

  4. Place both bags into the gallon size baggie contained with ice 

  5. Shake until ice cream is made & ENJOY!

Activity - Hovercraft STEM Project 

 

Supplies 

Nozzle top off the dish liquid 

cd

balloon 

tape

 

Instructions:

Tape the nozzle to the middle to the middle cd. 

Place balloon over nozzle 

Blow up balloon  from the bottom side of the cd through the nozzle 

Place it down and watch it HOVER!!!

Activity - Rock Candy 

 

Supplies 

 cup of water

food coloring 

cups of sugar

wooden sticks 

3 glasses 

3 clothespins 

 

Instructions: 

Boil a cup of water adding 1/2 cup of sugar at a time til mixture is dissolved

While mixture is cooling slightly 

Dip stick in water and roll in sugar

Add 3 drops of food coloring to each glass

Pour mixture into the glasses 

Put stick into the mixture 

Place clothespin onto the wooden stick so stick does not touch the bottom or sides of glass 

Leave for two to three days 

YOU HAVE NOW CREATED YOUR OWN ROCK CANDY!

As a child, your teen may have scribbled the crayons until they melted away on paper. This tutorial will teach them to melt the crayons in a different way, to create a work of art!

You will need:

  • A blank canvas

  • A pack of crayons

  • Hot glue gun

  • A cup

  • A blow dryer

  • Silhouettes of your choice

Activity - Don't Say UMM Game

This game is a great way to practice public speaking in a fun and creative way. This will also help with career prep. For instance, when you go to a job interview giving the best first impression is key, and your words leave a lasting impression.

 

Materials:
subject cards, a “funny” hat or bag, timer, noise-maker

How to Play:
-The teacher will demonstrate how to play by pulling a subject from the hat and speaking for 30 seconds or 1 minute, without saying “Um”.
-Students choose a subject card from the hat. Other students act as the timer and buzzer-judge. The speaker must speak for 30s to 1min without saying "um".

Variations to Reduce Anxiety: 
-If there is anxiety, share the subjects that are in the hat with the class before any students take a turn.
-Have each student choose a card. The give 5 to 10 minutes to think about their subject and make some notes if they want to before anyone takes a turn.
